“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.” - Unknown —————— Last May I decided to make an account, I didn’t think it would get that far but I wanted to make one nonetheless. I felt inspired by so many accounts on here already dedicating so much of their time to accounts like these and I wanted to do that too. Long story short as I continued to post and learn more and more everyday I grew this connection. Jack makes me happy when I’m sad, gives me motivation to carry on and he mentors me in so many ways. 54 years in the future his words guide and inspire me and I feel that he would be so happy to know that he was influencing people so far in the future. He is like a father I’ve never had, he’s a hero, a legend, a king. He loved everybody and fought for anybody. He is such an example to me because his life was completely dedicated to the service of others even though he suffered so much pain in his everyday life. His words are so powerful and shaking and everytime I hear him, his words move me to almost tears. Everyday I miss him even though I never got the lucky chance of meeting him. He absolutely changed the world and he inspires me to do the same. Everyday of my life someday will be completely dedicated to trying to make the world a better place in any way that I can because I want to be able to look Jack in the eyes someday and say “I listened.” ————————————————————————— Tags: #jfk #johnfkennedyjr #johnkennedy #jackiekennedy #americanhistory

The first lady received a bouquet of red roses, which she brought with her to the waiting limousine. Governor John Connally and his wife, Nellie, were already seated in the open convertible as the Kennedys entered and sat behind them. Since it was no longer raining, the plastic bubble top had been left off. Vice President and Mrs. Johnson occupied another car in the motorcade. The procession left the airport and traveled along a ten-mile route that wound through downtown Dallas on the way to the Trade Mart where the President was scheduled to speak at a luncheon. Crowds of excited people lined the streets and waved to the Kennedys. The car turned off Main Street at Dealey Plaza around 12:30 p.m. As it was passing the Texas School Book Depository, gunfire suddenly reverberated in the plaza. Bullets struck the president s neck and head and he slumped over toward Mrs. Kennedy. The governor was also hit in the chest. The car sped off to Parkland Memorial Hospital just a few minutes away. But little could be done for the President. A Catholic priest was summoned to administer the last rites, and at 1:00 p.m. John F. Kennedy was pronounced dead. Though seriously wounded, Governor Connally would recover. #jfk #jackiekennedy #johnkennedy

54 years ago today, one of the most tragic days in our history unfolded in downtown Dallas. We lost our 35th President in a way no one should leave this life. We will forever remember JFK & all he did for the US. May he Rest In Peace. It was a very humbling experience to see, in person, the seat in which he lost his life [the actual limousine is on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan; I visited back in 2016]. . . . . . . . #JFK #JohnFKennedy

President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dealey Plaza, Dallas,
#otd in 1963. JFK’s death rocked not only the nation but the entire world. Among the condolence letters sent to his widow, Jackie, was a letter from Vivien Leigh. Vivien, who historically voted conservative in Britain (not to be confused with republican), was an admirer of both John and Jackie. She ended her letter by writing, “Thank you for all you both stand for in the world. Yours sincerely & in deepest sympathy.” #vivienleigh #jfk #johnfkennedy #jackiekennedy #lettersofnote #letters #camelot #1960s #zeitgeist #history #ushistory #dallas #texas #grassyknoll
