My body is the result of trial and error. The result of not giving up. I keep TRYING. Most of the time my good choices outweigh the bad choices. I am not yet free of my food addiction and I am not free of my tendency to overeat. I always joke that my stomach is a bottomless pit. It’s rare that I ever eat enough to feel “full”. I find it difficult to restrain from eating junk food. I have to constantly check myself. Without any self-control I would be 300+ lbs once again. I am not blessed with a high metabolism or nicely placed fat stores. I work really hard to maintain this average body. Most days I follow what I consider to be a healthy diet. Most days I get to the gym. Most days I get in enough water. I don’t always get enough sleep. My natural tendency is to be lazy. To cuddle up on the couch with snacks. I love macaroni and cheese and cookies. I love candy and ice cream. But I try not to buy those things because I know most days I’d be too lazy to drive to the store just to fulfill a craving. I’m gonna eat what is in the house, so I try to keep it stocked with healthy foods. I’m pretty disciplined when it comes to meal prepping. Most of my days off I get to the gym and the grocery store. I cook the most basic meals and make enough to have leftovers that will last through my work days. I eat my lunch before midnight. And I don’t eat after midnight. The rest of the shift I drink water, and lots of it. Maybe I spend too much time in the mirror and taking selfies but it honestly keeps me on track. I am not at all qualified to help others with these struggles. I can’t even keep up with all the DMs I have from people asking me to fix their entire life. I can only live my example and try to share what I find to be helpful for me. The most important thing is to empower yourself. If you’re not sure where to start- you’re not alone. Starting points that can help anyone and everyone: reduce sugar intake. Increase your intake of fresh produce and find high protein sources. Eat less processed foods. Drink more water. Get more sleep. Increase physical activity. Resistance training. Take your selfies! Do your measurements. Track weight AND body fat percentage.

Transformation Tuesday — Not really ever “fat” for overweight, but not fit either. Just comfortable stuck in the status quo. Doing the same thing over again expecting different results. What changes? * No more hours of cardio and started lifting weights 🏋️ * Began eating to nourish my body * Started eating MORE * Started drinking more water. This is my journey and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. If yo girl did it.. so can YOU!! Email firstname.lastname@example.org

💥 PORTION SIZES MATTER 💥 - 👉🏼 Lately, here on my Instagram we’ve been talking a lot about portion sizes. And these posts seem to really resonate with all of you because of how simple, straightforward and digestible they are. So, I’m going to keep them coming if that’s cool with you? - 📊 Anyhow, portion sizes matter because of the macronutrient distribution in certain types of foods. Meaning: some foods are higher in certain macronutrients than other foods, and therefore some foods are higher in total calories than other foods. - 🙉 This is really important to keep in mind when your tracking your nutrition for the purpose of achieving some sort of fitness goal, whether It be fat loss or lean muscle gain. - 🏓 For example, the trick when dieting for fat loss is to consume more low-calorie foods that are high in protein, fiber and micronutrients (fruits and veggies) that’ll fuel your activity while keeping you full! - 💁🏻 On the other hand, when your goal is weight gain, eating calorie dense foods (like cheeseburgers) will allow you to consume more calories without totally binging beyond fullness. - 🌥 So at the end of the day, watch your portions so that you can eat more with less, and enjoy yourself while also making progress. Because remember, fitness and nutrition should be part of your life, but It shouldn’t consume your life. Balance is key. And portions matter! - 🙌🏼 If you ever wanna talk to me about this nutrition stuff, just hit me with a comment below. I also check my direct messages multiple times per day, and love interacting with you one on one. So just reach out if you wanna say hello, or need any help. I gotchuuuu - PS. Left is only a “no” if your goal is fat loss or maintenance and moderation. If your bulking, and have LOTS of calories to spare, get after It!
