I’m big on programming post-activation potentiation concepts during “off-season” for fighters. I’ve posted before how high intensity or high velocity lifting can enhance plyometric performance. This study displayed that it can go the other way as well, ballistic plyometrics enhancing 1RM. Good to know I don’t need to get too caught up in exercise order. Although one before the other MAY be more effective depending on the goal, they’re not interfering with each other’s progress.

Posted up some anti-rotation, now here’s some dynamic rotation. • • • 1. Half-kneeling Side Toss 2. Isometric Lunge Side Toss 3. Standing Side Toss 4. Slam to Side Toss 5. Side Toss to Chest Pass • • • Side note: For the standing variations, notice that my left foot sometimes steps past the right foot. For athletes with a high agility component (e.g. football or tennis), I’d suggest stopping with the feet aligned to train deceleration.
