Here’s a CT Scan of self inflicted gunshot wound to the head with the entrance and exit wounds clearly visible (arrows)! The ER doctor assumed the bullet was a .38. Gunshot wounds to the head are difficult to predict. Think of the skull as a closed box that cradles the brain. There isn t a lot of room for movement fo the brain or swelling in the skull. If a bullet enters the head and bounces around, the permanent cavity (bullet track) may be large, but the damage from the temporary cavity that forms is even worse. There is no room for the brain to move and the shock waves often cause irreversible damage. For some lucky people, if the bullet velocity is high and there is no side to side movement (wobble) and it passes through non-critical parts of the brain, less damage occurs and survival is possible. But it turns out that the design of the trailer the truck is pulling can also have a big impact on the severity of injuries in certain types of accidents. Specifically, trailer design affects the potential for underride accidents. Underride accidents occur when a car hits a trailer and keeps going, becoming partially lodged beneath the trailer. Smiling because I got through today’s run injury free! 🤗 This morning I had a sharp pain in my ankle on the way to the gym and my knee has been a bit achey all day but I knew I had to at least try for Day 12 of Advent Running! 🏃🏻‍♀️ 4km at easy pace and all is well 🙏🏻 ready to go again tomorrow 🤞🏻

💥 CLEAN EATING THE GOOD AND THE BAD 💥 📊 Ok, so this week I ran a poll on what people thought was the best approach to nutrition, flexible dieting vs clean eating. - 🎖️ Flexible dieting won (88% to 12%) which I thought it would, but that doesn t mean it s the best approach for everyone, clean eating has its place for certain individuals. - 🔓 I m not married to one specific way of thinking, everyone is different and while I use flexible dieting with 80% of my clients and myself, nothing is perfect and clean eating is what some people will insist on using when they become clients, which is fine. Sometimes it is hard to heal. Whether physically or mentally. In my case, my physical impairment weighs heavily on me. I can not move as I am used to. Of course it can always be worse and I know that too. However, this restriction is a big challenge for me. I have the greatest respect for all those who are struggling with much worse constraints and wish them all the strength, power and selfacceptance to go through it. I keep trying to remember how little bad and insignificant my injury is. But some days you just need an I understand you. I feel for you . . 🤔To Train when injured or Not!?? . 💫When injury strikes it is very frustrating but instead of completely staying away from training ask yourself, what training can I do despite the injury?? . 🤕Barring major injuries i.e. neck, back injuries etc., the majority of injuries can be trained around. . 🏋️‍♂️Why is it good to train while injured?? . 🛋️Mentally - you will feel better then sitting at home feeling frustrating. . ⚡Physically - staying active in some form will speed up the healing of your injury in the majority of cases. . 🚂Stay on track with your goal - don t let an injury derail all your progress you have made so far. . 👩‍🏫All of the above should be considered with the help of a knowledgeable coach who knows how to safely programme around your injury. .

I’ll admit it..... I got tight hips. But I also think it’s important for people to see what ‘imperfect’ mobility work looks like. It’s important to under stand that you can’t master movement in a day, week, or month. But that change is possible if you put in the work. With that said, here’s an easy routine to lengthen and warm up my biggest weakness, the Adductor muscle group. 🔥Wide Knee Hip Sinks. Starting in a kneeling position, move knees as far apart as possible. Lean trunk forward and sink hip back. 🔥Wide Stance Hip Glides. Start in a wide stance. Keeping feet pointed forward and flat on ground, lunge from side to side. 🔥Cossack Squat: Start in a wide stance, as you lunge to one side, turn straight leg do toe is pointing up into the air. Sink butt to ankle if possible. 🔥Banded Butterflies: hardest part is getting the band on. Start by pinning band with your back/trunk, then hook around knees.
