I didn’t teach him how to shoot. I didn’t teach him how to dribble, and I sure as hell didn’t teach him how to dunk! I don’t and will not take credit for anything Vic has been doing this season. All I did was get his body to work and function the way the human body is meant to perform. We don’t get lucky at DBC, as much as are critics like to say we do. Our system is designed to help all athletes reach their full potential, and Vic is just a reflection of that once again. When you align an athletes system properly and then apply the proper strength, performance and development training, they’re able to do the things they’ve always been meant to do. 💪🏼WORKOUT WEDNESDAY💪🏼. • Get up and MOVE! Had to knock off the rust with this quick foot ladder 😅 • The #quickfootladder can be used before a workout as a dynamic warmup, at the end of a workout as metabolic conditioning, or separately for other training benefits 👍🏼 • This ladder can be a great tool for any athletes out there looking to improve their foot speed, small-space change of direction, and deceleration skills. For the general public, this can be a great way to get some cardio in and have FUN doing it! At least more fun that running on a treadmill 🏃🏻♀️😂 • For beginners, begin with simple movements like 2 feet in each box going forward & laterally, and slowly progress to more advanced techniques. YouTube has plenty of variations if you get bored of doing the same ones!

Yesterday s training session I started adding some different plyo s to the contrast training. I still did the hip thrusts as a primer (not shown here), followed by: ▶️Band resisted speed trap bar deadlifts x 3 (the @movestrong open trap bar is 👌🏽) ▶️Fast and loose for 5-10 seconds, I m shaking out the tension (if you re tense you can t be as fast/elastic) ▶️Hurdle hops into 42 inch box jump w/ single leg landing (landing on one leg promotes the deceleration and absorption of forces on that single leg - it s a progression but great for training athletes how to stick/decelerate/absorb) This has been 💰 for bringing up my reactivity and vertical these last months. #vigorground #vigorstrong #fitness #health #power #athlete #explosive #jump #verticaljump #fitfam #strength #strengthcoach #powertraining #sportsperformance #fitspo #getfit #gym #gymlife #cantstopwontstop #motivation #fitnessmotivation #bodytransformation #fatloss #leangains

Here is a great example of a fun way to incorporate soccer skill work into single leg power production training. . The player has to be able to generate enough power to lift the ball off the ground and then bounce it off the sole of the opposite foot to begin juggling. . See if your soccer players can do this. If not, help them to be successful by addressing their single leg explosiveness and power production!
