Tell me again how Chinese medicine is “pseudoscience.”
Te left image is Vladimir Janda’s “cone of postural stability” which shows the hips as center of balance over the ankles, which serve as a ground-reactive base of support, and the head which has the eyes and vestibular system of balance.
The two images to the right are the Qiao Mai, or the “Leg Vessels,” which we could alternately translate as the “Locomotor pathways.”
These pathways go from the ankles, to the hips, to the eyes and brain, and are involved with balance, locomotion, and sleep.
Chinese medicine has understood this system for literally thousands of years.

In 2011 I had an experience that would shape my life in an unimaginable way. I was cleaning up from an opiate addiction that had robbed me of my identity, my self esteem and taken a pretty heavy toll on my health. My friend Michael who has been through thick and thin with me was trying to get me to go to the gym with him, I was hesitant if not resistant. He pleaded with me “Just go with me one time! If you hate it I will never bring it up again.” I think I was really worried that I would feel weak, insignificant, more worthless than I already felt... Michael had been working out off and on for some years and was always athletic and strong. I reluctantly agreed to join him for a gym session. In that gym session I was met with encouragement, with compassion, and a motivational attitude. That afternoon changed the trajectory of my future drastically, and I am incredibly grateful to Michael today; more than he could ever know.
The point of my story is that you really never know how much impact your kindness and encouragement might make on someone. So let’s lift each other up and recognize the efforts and attributes of those around us. Thanks for reading, I love you all. ❤️
