Since it was so nice outside today, Railee and I went on a photography practice walk! We enjoyed exploring in nature and snapping some photos!
Here are some of the blossoms we found from various trees and plants that we placed in spots we though were pretty neat, around a garden we were exploring. And a picture of the sunset this evening! It was beautiful!
We also took some action shots of Le squish playing and running around, which helped me with action shots quite a bit. What did I learn? I need to practice them more often! I will post those tomorrow!!! Good night ya'll!

Teamwork. NAAGS! @licarlson and I started working together in 2016. This is what we tend to look like at the end of the season after a few days of little sleep and packing gear in Chevak with the help of many enthusiastic hands that need a lot of supervision - we tend be disheveled (thank you to the local children arrange the lighting, backdrop, and taking the photo:)! Last week, we were a little more presentable in Lincoln, NE for the North American Arctic Goose Symposium (NAAGS). Between her and Thomas Riecke, a currrent PhD student of Jim Sedinger, they presented 3 talks about black brant and won the second and first place awards for best student presentation, respectively.
Lindsay presented preliminary results from work she and I designed and then collected data during summer 2017. This work builds upon previous research by former PhD students Chris Nicolai and Brian Persons who worked at the Tutakoke River Colony. Chris examined life-history trade-offs in adult black brant. He found that when brant parents take their goslings to brood-rearing areas with high gosling growth rates, the parents have lower breeding probability the following year. Brian's dissertation research focused on how grazing pressure maintains the vegetation goslings need in order to grow during the brood rearing period. My dissertation will be addressing the mechanism behind the trade-off documented by Chris while building upon the vegetation work of Brian.
Both Brian, Chris, and Jim were in attendance, as were another 10 or so former students of Jim Sedinger. It was great to meet and talk about research with these people. Even though they now have other work, former brant graduate students always have enthusiasm for Tut, brant, and current research! I can’t say how exciting it was to Lindsay to present some of our counterintuitive, albeit preliminary findings.

This morning I woke up to a insta story post from a great friend of mine. His photo said “I feel like I’m waiting for something that isn’t going to happen”. I instantly responded “No it always happens when you believe . You create the future you wish by the thoughts you think. Think and know it will happen. Feel it , live it , teach it and never stop loving it.” We are infinite creatures in a world filled with abundance . .
When I was 13 years old a the gift in the form of a word was given to me. That word was JAB. The word started as a bond between friends. Years later that word turned into the definition of my life. JAB- Just About Believing. JAB is the key to the beginning of our journey together. With that word , I have traveled the world , experienced life and love. My gift to the world is spreading JAB. Everyone can use to create their future, just as I have. “When we believe , we can achieve and succeed . “ .
Here is a little taste of what’s out there waiting for everyone. I am so Grateful for the life I’ve lived and more grateful to be able to share that life with everyone .

“Why not see the world in your own way?” It’s a blessing to be living in a world so filled with wonder. Today was another amazing day in Florida . Gratefulness defined itself in a new way. It nothing but a blessing to be alive.
