“I remember walking across the quad and guys would walk up to me and tell me about how my commendation had passed various levels like JSOC, CENTCOM, or SOCOM. I told them, ‘Nah, I haven’t heard anything.’ They cared about it for me but I didn’t really care (laughs). I thought, ‘If I don’t get it, I have a job that I love doing. If it goes through, that’s great because I'll use it as a platform to help other veterans and families of the fallen.’ When they told me I’d received it I was shocked because I didn’t think it was going to happen. It was a great feeling knowing it was going to bring recognition to a lot of the fallen Rangers and meaning to the Ranger creed. They were in the fight since day one and I think they’re on trip number twenty-one or twenty-two since the GWOT started. They continue to lead the way.”—MSG Leroy Petry (Army Special Operations, MOH Recipient, OIF, OEF Veteran)

The Indian Parachute Regiment was formed on 1 March 1945, consisting of four battalions and an equal number of independent companies. Despite the performance in Operation Dracula, the Indian Parachute Regiment was disbanded in late 1945 as part of the reduction and restructuring of the postwar British Indian Army. However, they retained their airborne role and formed part of the airborne division. After independence, the airborne division was divided between the armies of India and newly formed Pakistan, with India retaining 50th and 77th brigades while Pakistan took possession of the 14th Parachute Brigade.
In the post independence restructuring, the Indian government retained only one airborne formation, 50 Independent Parachute Brigade. This brigade consisted of three distinguished battalions personally nominated by the then Commander-in-Chief, namely 1 Para (Punjab), 2 Para (Maratha) and 3 Para (Kumaon). #indianarmy #prtc #parasf #para #commando #specialforces #paratrooper #maroon #beret #badges #balidan #medals #pop #uniform #olivegreen

This student did a great job today, with no military spec ops background, in today’s Mindset Course at VX.
He was wearing two 60-pound rucs, blindfolded (eyes closed), mouth full of water, and someone holding his nose to make sure he couldn’t breath while he was tested to create 3 different utility knots (that he had just learned). This drill was designed to induce stress and also to emulate what students go through in the spec ops vetting process. Take away a man’s Air and you will find out very quickly what kind of man he is. #MINDSET #vxmarksmanship #vx #marksmanship #recon #priorities #personaltrainer #tactical #mindsettraining #mindset #specialforces #training #knot #rucksack #feb2018 #dfw To start your reservation visit the website www.vxmarksmanship.com

Mental warfare, it’s a 365 day campaign. Once you hit day 365 it starts again. It’s a war that rages in your head. It comes in many forms. .
It’s the war of self belief, it’s the war of motivation, it’s the war of procrastination, it’s the war of you vs you. Never ever stop fighting this war. .
The day you stop fighting this war, the day you stop detesting mediocrity, is the day you become the walking dead. Fight on!!
